Dice

Yacht Dice

Roll five dice, keep the ones you want, then bank the best category. Fill all twelve.

How to play

Roll five dice and build the best possible hand — a game runs twelve turns, one for each scoring category. Every turn:

  1. Roll all five dice.
  2. Hold the dice you want by tapping them, then re-roll the rest. You get three rolls per turn (the opening roll plus two re-rolls).
  3. Bank the result in one category on the scorecard.

Each category is used once, so where you bank is the whole game. You never have to re-roll — cash in early when the dice are good. Every box must be filled, so weak turns mean “scratching” a hand into a category you can’t reach.

Scoring

Numbers — sum the dice showing that face:

Category Scores
Ones – Sixes Sum of all dice showing that number

Combinations:

Category Scores
Full House Three of a kind plus a pair → sum of all five dice
Four of a Kind Four dice the same → sum of those four dice
Little Straight 1-2-3-4-5 → flat 30
Big Straight 2-3-4-5-6 → flat 30
Choice Sum of all five dice (a safe dump)
Yacht All five dice the same → a huge 50

Your total is every category added up — no upper-section bonus, every point earned in the boxes.

Tips

  • Chase the Yacht early. 50 points is a quarter of a strong game, so gamble your re-rolls on three or four of a kind before settling for Four of a Kind.
  • Bank high faces in Numbers. A hand full of sixes is worth more there than in Choice.
  • Keep Choice as an escape hatch for turns where nothing else fits.
  • Scratch cheap boxes on bad turns. Write off Ones or Twos when a roll is hopeless — you lose the fewest points.
